The key equity barometers traded with marginal gains in morning trades. Nifty moved in a range of 23325-23194. Nifty Auto, Nifty Realty and Nifty Media shares advanced, while Nifty IT shares declined.
At 10:45 IST, the barometer index, the S&P BSE Sensex, posted modest gains of 76.79 points or 0.10% to 74,413.24. The Nifty 50 index inched up 62.90 points or 0.27% to 23,280.50.
The broader market performed worse than frontline indices. The BSE 150 MidCap Index added 0.59% and the BSE 250 SmallCap Index moved higher by 0.76%.
The market breadth was healthy. On the BSE, 2991 shares advanced and 1509 shares fell. A total of 227 shares were unchanged.
Nifty Auto index gained 1.06% to 27180. The index has lost 7.83% in last one month and moved lower by 0.93% over last one year. Sona BLW Precis., inching higher 2.41%, led the gainers followed by Uno Minda, up 2.21% and Samvardh. Mothe., adding 1.48%, respectively. Out of 15 index constituents, 14 are reporting gains today.
Nifty Realty index edged higher by 0.92% to 830. The index has declined 9.51% in last one month and retreated 10.17% over last one year. Lodha Developers, edging up 1.47%, led the gainers followed by DLF, gaining 1.39% and Anant Raj, up 1.19%, respectively. All 10 constituents are advancing today.
Nifty IT index posted modest losses of 0.61%. The index has shed 5.58% in last one month and registered heavy losses of 19.67% over last one year. Oracle Fin.Serv., easing 1.25%, led the losers followed by Mphasis, losing 1.13% and Infosys, edging lower 0.95%, respectively. Out of 10 index constituents, 9 are reporting loss today.
Out of 14 sectoral indices on NSE, 13 are in green today. Nifty Auto index has recorded steep losses of 7.83% in last one month and is modestly lower by 0.93% over last year. Nifty IT index is sharply lower by 5.58% in last one month and has tumbled 19.67% over last one year.
From NIFTY50 index, IFCI, Vodafone Idea AND Pine Labs are leading in terms of volumes today, clocking turnover of 5949.59 lakh shares, 797.02 lakh shares and 3232.2 lakh shares respectively.
Asian markets posted modest losses on Thursday. China’s Shanghai composite is slightly lower by 0.27%, Hong Kong’s Hang Seng is trading lower by 0.95%. Japan’s Nikkei 225 is modestly higher by 0.30%.
NIFTY50 Sep-26 futures are in discount of 24.50 points today.
